Songwriting for me has always come from a place that feels like desperation. I desperately want to connect with people in my life, and I desperately want to make music that matters to people. So when we started writing this song, I was like: "This feels like a really sexy tune", but I wanted to inject some of that desperation into it. So all the "rizz" that the music gives it, is countered by this desperate version of myself that just wants the company of someone who clearly isn't that interested in providing that company beyond a physical connection.
